Welcome to Sharp & Enright!

Originally established in 1865 we have been a family business for an amazing five generations.  Sharp and Enright are based in Dover where the business was originally established as a sail makers.  By the time Messrs Sharp & Enright acquired the company in 1865 it had become what it is today; a ships chandlery and general merchants.

The first generation Sharp & Enright may not be familiar with many of the products and technologies available today.  However, one thing that they would be familiar with is the dedication and focus on the quality service that we continue to provide.  Whether you are shopping in-store or online, you will be impressed by the quality and range of our products and an attention to detail that has long since been forgotten in todays world.  We also pride ourselves on being fast and efficient, quickly sourcing whatever you require.

You will find us on Snargate Street within walking distance of Dover Marina and the seafront.  There is also short stay parking in front of the store.  As well as the regular chandlery offerings we offer our popular bespoke rope work service, making barriers and banisters for staircases.
